Here is two example letters from bear P1-3/4 and P4/5-7 versions) for your class when introducing bear and his ‘inner’ bear hearts for the first time. Feel free to use/adapt as you wish.

It never fails to amaze me the power of imagination! I asked our P6 pupils before I gave them their letter and hearts from bear whether they still had their imaginations and it was a resounding yes! 🥰 They had an inkling as to what was coming as they were aware of the upcoming bear and book at that time, and some of them worked with me previously to help design mental health toolkits/rucksacks. They were all super excited and on board! Our class were a noisy class at the best of times but you could have heard a pin drop! We then had an open afternoon and focused on HWB linked to our project and one of the tasks was stitching their initial onto their bear heart. Despite all the social media/tech saturated environment our upper stage classes in particular are growing up in, never underestimate the power of continuing to grow imaginations and strengthen Growth Mindset. This is a project for all stages, that can be started at anytime! It continues to grow with the children as they move through the school through a truly project based learning approach. Embedding transferable (meta) skills too! 🧸💕
