Red Thoughts/Green Thoughts 💭

Red Thoughts/Green Thoughts 💭 🧸💕

We developed ideas for contextualising Red thoughts/Green Thoughts through Bear. We intend to incorporate the giant growth/fixed mindset brain that Lindsey Mcwilliam kindly made for us at the beginning of the project a few years ago.

We created our Calm Space/Cave with the children. We made a mind map of the resources/things children would like to help them regulate and help turn their ‘red’ thought into ‘green’ ones!

We also discussed how all feelings are important and equally valued but sometimes some feelings get too fizzy and we might need help to stop our ‘fizzy bubbles’ from bursting out the top! We shared what this might look like in our actions (hitting, shouting, throwing things etc…) and why it was important to help ourselves and each other to regulate (and reset) before this happens.

We talked about using our calm space, when we are calm/happy in the green zone too. This help train our brains and bodies to be able to use the things/resources that will really help us when we are ‘simmering’ or beginning to get fizzy with some smaller bubbles before they get too big!

The children then went on to make ‘bubbles’ (circles) with red thoughts and hearts with green thoughts to show and share how they can change their red thoughts into green thoughts with the help of Bear. 🥰🧸💖
